My name is Dr. Alex Zernovoj, DHH Teacher. I have been teaching K-12 DHH students for over 10 years. It is my first year at CPMA. I previously taught at both the Clerc Center in Washington, DC as well as the California School for the Deaf at Riverside. I consider myself a lifelong learner and educator. I am strongly committed to teaching and achievement of our DHH students. I have a doctorate degree in Teaching and Learning from UC San Diego.
DHH students take a two-period English block. My class offers a rich dual language program that combines meaningful and challenging activities in English and ASL. Students will be using technology, group work, daily in-class discussions and online discussion platforms to develop their language and literacy skills. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, reading, movies, running and spending time with my wife and children. |
